Nursing burnout is real—and so is the question that follows: if I leave, what do I do with everything I know?

The Nursing Lens exists for exactly that moment. We're a platform where nurses channel their clinical knowledge and lived experience into digital media—writing, video journalism, photography, voice work, and editing. No prior media experience required. Just a story worth telling and the willingness to tell it.

Research backs what we've seen in practice: creative work helps people process stress and burnout. But it also does something else—it builds something tangible—a body of work, a portfolio, and a professional identity outside the hospital. Every article published, every video produced, every portfolio launched here is a real credential. A byline. A body of work. Proof that a nurse's expertise doesn't disappear when they step away from the bedside—it just finds a new form.

Volunteers get matched to projects based on their interests. We publish original health articles—topic of your choice—after thorough peer review. And we help every contributor build their first professional website and portfolio, so they can market themselves as a health writer, journalist, videographer, editor, or voice artist.

You might discover you can write. You might have a voice made for broadcast. You might be a natural in front of a camera as a nurse field reporter. You won't know until you try—and this is the place to try.
